Trea Turner is listed as hurt. (Icon Sportswire/Jeff Robinson) The Most Recent Phillies Injury News Trea Turner (strained left hamstring) Present: 10-day list of injured On May 4, Turner was put on the 10-day disabled list due to a hamstring strain in his left. Although he wouldn’t say what grade the strain is, he did say he will be out for “six weeks or so.”

Turner was hit in the cage and fielded ground balls on Friday in Colorado, according to manager Rob Thomson’s pregame remarks. In what Thomson called a “heavy day” on Saturday, the Phillies want Turner to hit the field and run harder before running the bases in San Francisco the following week. With Turner, Thomson said he’s cautious but confident that he doesn’t sense anything wrong with the hamstring. Turner will start seeing live pitching following the six-game road trip, and plans will be made for when he may go on a rehab assignment. (Updated on May 24 by Nathan Ackerman)

Yunior Marte (inflammatory right shoulder) Status: retroactive to May 1, a 15-day injured list Following his scoreless outing against the San Diego Padres on April 28, Marte “felt a little something,” according to Thomson. The feeling subsided, but on April 30, when he faced the Los Angeles Angels, it truly “flamed up.” He was eventually added to the disabled list on May 3 after being unavailable for the Angels series finale.

On Wednesday, May 22, at Citizens Bank Park, Marte threw eighteen pitches during live batting practice against Cristian Pache and Kody Clemens. Although the team still needs to “map out” the following stages, Thomson anticipates starting a minor league rehab assignment shortly. (Updated on May 22, by Destiny Lugardo)

Luis Ortiz (inflammation of the right shoulder) Situation: 15-day list of injured Due to a left ankle sprain, Ortiz has been on the injured list since March 31. After that injury, he recovered well enough to play in two rehab games for Single-A Clearwater. The latest, though, was on April 25. This was due to his right shoulder discomfort, which kept him out of commission for a while. According to Thomson, Ortiz is puking up to 90 feet. (Tim Kelly provided an update on May 15.)

Rafael Marchán, lumbar region Present: 10-day list of injured On May 14, Thomson informed the reporters gathered at Citi Field that “there’s speculation” that Marchán’s back problem was initially caused by the amount of labor he had to do in the Venezuelan Winter League. On May 14, Marchán made a rehab appearance for Single-A Clearwater and went one for two with a walk. (Revised on May 15, by Tim Kelly)

Michael Rucker (vasospasm of the right hand arteries) Situation: 15-day list of injured Rucker is scheduled to throw another bullpen session on May 17 after throwing one on May 14. (Revised on May 15, by Tim Kelly) Dylan Covey (strain to his right shoulder) Situation: 15-day list of injured Covey was told to stop throwing because he still had a sore in his shoulder. In the process of working on conditioning, he also injured his hamstring slightly. He’s seeing the team physicians in Philadelphia right now, but he should return to Clearwater on Friday.
