Chicago Bears have already suffered a slight blow with first-round wide receiver before Day 2 of rookie minicamp.
The Chicago Bears are expected to be without one of their high-profile players during the second day of rookie minicamp outside Halas Hall.
According to numerous Chicago writers, Bears first-round wide out Rome Odunze will miss practice today due to hamstring soreness.
Odunze did take the field for the first day of the Bears’ rookie minicamp Tuesday, leading the wide receivers through drills and routes.
While this is most likely a precaution, it is worth noting that Odunze will not be taking the field with the rest of the team later today in Chicago.
Odunze shone on the first day of rookie minicamp, connecting many times with his new quarterback, Caleb Williams, the Bears’ first overall choice. Odunze also looked immaculate as he went through several agility drills on the field with the other wide receivers in attendance.
“I’m always excited to get on the field and play football,” Odunze told reporters before yesterday’s practice. “I’m excited because this is what I’m enthusiastic about. So, I’m just trying to remain focused and go out there and give my all.”
Soft tissue tightness is something to take seriously, and seeing the team pull Odunze out of practice to address it is a good sign. Hopefully, this is all it is, and Odunze will be able to return to the field for OTAs. We will share further information whenever we hear from inside Halas Hall.
