Jack Harrison may never play for Everton again following what Sean Dyche stated before the win against Sheffield United.
Jack Harrison may have already played his final game for Everton after Sean Dyche stated that he is unlikely to play again this season due to injury.
The 27-year-old has spent the season on loan at Goodison Park from Leeds United, scoring four goals and providing three assists in 35 games in all competitions to help the Toffees avoid relegation.
However, due to an undisclosed injury, the winger was forced to miss the 1-0 victory against Sheffield United on Saturday, May 11, and is unlikely to be fit for the season’s final game against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on May 19.
His loan agreement expires after that game, and the club is now struggling financially, so there is no assurance he will ever wear the famed blue shirt again.
Everton cannot splash the cash in the summer transfer window
Kevin Thelwell has already announced to fans that players will be sold this summer in order to balance the books and prevent more punishments, with administration being discussed by some in recent days.
And, while people leaving means that others must come in to replace them, the club will most likely have substantially less money to spend on new players.
Harrison signed a new long-term contract at Elland Road only months before joining the Toffees, so there’s little prospect of a cheap deal, and Daniel Farke’s team might still play in the Premier League next season.
If that’s the case, they may want to keep him, but if they don’t make the playoffs, they’ll want to obtain as much money as possible for their best players.
Taking everything into account, it appears unlikely that the parties will be able to reach a lasting agreement, and Harrison’s time on Merseyside has ended prematurely.
