According to a report compiled of comments from a number of NFL executives, league executives praised the San Francisco 49ers greatly for their unexpected selection of Florida standout Ricky Pearsall in the first round of the April draft.

The 49ers front staff entered the 2024 NFL Draft needing to add the finishing touches to a recipe that is very nearly good enough to win a Super Bowl, as has been the case for the team in recent years. But there was also a lot of conjecture over the choice of a possible Deebo Samuel or Brandon Aiyuk substitute.
