In the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears picked Yale offensive tackle Kiran Amegadjie with the 75th choice.

Over the previous four seasons, the 6-foot-5, 326-pound offensive tackle started 24 games for the Bulldogs. In 1,595 career snaps during his college career, he only gave up one sack and 26 total quarterback pressures.

In back-to-back seasons, Amegadjie was selected to the Ivy League first team and won the Ivy League Offensive Lineman of the Year award in the previous campaign. Additionally, Stats Perform named him to the FCS All-American third team.

Amegadjie remarked, “I can’t even put it into words.” “I played Madden 08 and 09 with Devin Hester in kickoff mode and grew up watching Devin Hester as a Bears fan. Since I was a young child, this is all I have ever desired. I get to spend time at home with my favorite squad.”

Amegadjie, who signed with Yale out of Hinsdale, Illinois, is from the Chicago region. Along with Rodney Thomas II and Foyesade Oluokun, he is the third Yale player drafted since 2018. Since 1982, he is also the highest selection from Yale in the NFL Draft.

Amegadjie is anticipated to contend for a starting spot in the upcoming season after joining No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams in Chicago. Rome Odunze, a wide receiver for Washington, was also chosen by the Bears with the ninth overall pick.
