Pecco Bagnaia expresses “concern” over “damage” to garage atmosphere when Marc Marquez arrives.

Francesco Bagnaia has expressed “concern” about the “atmosphere” when Marc Marquez joins his squad, according to Ducati.

Marquez won the high-profile race to become Ducati’s second official rider in 2025, defeating Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini.

One of the many hot topics will be his relationship with current champion Bagnaia.

“Pecco has repeatedly stated that he wishes to maintain the current harmony in the garage,” team manager Davide Tardozzi told Cycle World.

“So his concern is that there will be incidents that could disrupt the environment in the garage.

“This is also a priority. We don’t believe Marc’s presence will cause problems inside the Ducati garage.

“We believe we can manage two champions like Marc and Bagnaia.”

‘SEPANG WAS ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO…
Bagnaia’s loyalty to Valentino Rossi, Marquez’s lifelong rival, adds to the issue.

Bagnaia attended the VR46 Academy but now, several years later, must share a garage with his mentor’s most fierce rival.

“It’s true that Pecco is a rider of Valentino Rossi’s Academy, but he is a solid champion in himself,” Tardozzi stated.

“Our objective is that the atmosphere in the garage remains as amicable as it is now. It is my responsibility to keep it.

Tardozzi was questioned about whether Italian supporters would tolerate Marquez wearing red.

He was asked about his memories of Rossi and Marquez’s most notorious battles.

“We have to say that the facts in Sepang go back almost ten years,” Tardozzi responded.

He explained why Marquez was picked over Martin and Bastianini.

We consider the rider’s performance and potential to improve the bike with Pecco and win championships,” Tardozzi stated.

“We look to the future, not the past.

“Moreover, in the sport, there are supporters that follow a particular racer, and then there are Ducati fans who support the brand.

“This is so special and we are very proud and honoured to have them.”
