Jim Harbaugh is apparently garnering NFL interest from the Raiders and Dolphins.

owner Stephen Ross, a Michigan alumni and significant supporter, may try to attract Harbaugh to Miami if he is interested.

“Ross has long coveted Harbaugh and, at this stage of his life with a succession plan for ownership already in place, passing on Harbaugh might be difficult,” La Canfora wrote on Saturday. “Harbaugh also played for the Bears and is well known at Halas Hall, with that franchise pondering sweeping changes and considering a multitude of former players for a multitude of roles.”

Reports of Harbaugh leaving Michigan to return to the NFL have increased in recent days, following the Wolverines’ Big Ten Championship and College Football Playoff presence this season, the experienced coach’s greatest at the program.

The initial reports linking Harbaugh to a possible comeback to the NFL with the Raiders, which appears to be an annual talking point, came from The Athletic. Harbaugh reworked his contract at Michigan and took a pay reduction ahead of the 2021 season before leading the team to new heights with an unforgettable season.

According to The Michigan Insider, Harbaugh did not avoid answering the NFL question when asked by a recruit last month. The player’s parents told The Michigan Insider that they had no choice but to embrace Harbaugh’s honesty.

On Friday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport joined The Rich Eisen Show, saying that the allegations were more about Harbaugh seeking a compensation hike than a strong desire to go. The discussion began earlier this week, following Bruce Feldman’s disclosure of probable interest in both the Raiders and the Chicago Bears.

“To me, it appears that he is in a similar predicament as last year, in which he is hunting for greater pastures in the NFL. “I believe he would look,” Rapoport added. “It appears to me — and I don’t intend this in any way toward anything that was reported — but when someone takes a salary cut and then gets to shove it where the sun doesn’t like to shine, it’s like we just said, typically it’s about money.right? So, yes, he said all the beautiful things about a wage cut, but is he using the media power to say, ‘Hey, I’d like a lot more money or I’ll go to the NFL.’ I’m not claiming that’s what’s going on, but it makes a lot of sense.

Harbaugh has concluded his seventh season as Michigan’s head coach, and it was his most successful yet. The Wolverines are 61-24 under Harbaugh and reached the final four for the first time this year, defeating Ohio State in the process.
