Milwaukee Bucks: Bobby Portis Drops Truth Bomb on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Role on ‘Hatred’ Toward Brother Thanasis
Thanasis Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks forward, has become somewhat of a laughingstock throughout the NBA. It’s as if this man can’t do anything right, as his every move is examined and critiqued mercilessly.
According to Bucks big man Bobby Portis, Giannis Antetokounmpo is responsible for much of the hatred directed at his big brother.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Bobby Portis Comes to Thanasis Antetokounmpo’s Defense
Portis expressed nothing but admiration for Thanasis as he spoke about the elder Antetokounmpo on FanDuel’s Run It Back program. According to Bobby, Thansis is not given the respect he deserves as a true hooper:
“That is my brother.” We talk every day. “He’s a fantastic human being,” Portis stated (via Advait Jajodia of The Sports Rush).
“Working on a team with him allows you to observe his daily behavior.” He’s an excellent player. People don’t grasp that bro has a serious game. Bro can really hoop.
“He might get in and something goes wrong, or he might go viral for doing anything…” As Giannis’ older brother, he receives a lot of animosity. The world would know if he had a legitimate shot, but they only get the final few minutes of the game.”
Portis also mentioned how Giannis’ enormous shadow has had a tremendous impact on Thanasis’ reputation. Many people say Thanasis is only on the Bucks because of his younger brother, but Portis strongly disagrees.
Portis went on to compliment Thansis’ contributions at the table. The Bucks veteran acknowledged that Thanasis is not a star, but he also revealed why everyone on the team respects the 31-year-old for his work ethic:
“Everyone on the team has a certain position, correct? The best player on a squad has a distinct role compared to the 15th member. He also demonstrates leadership qualities. “Everyone respects what he does because of how hard he works every day,” Portis concluded.
