BREAKING NEWS: Detroit Lions are urged to trade for a $21.8 million wide receiver with 24 touchdowns who is better than Jared Goff………

Detroit Lions are urged to trade for a $21.8 million wide receiver with 24 touchdowns.

The Detroit Lions have created a youthful and talented supporting cast around quarterback Jared Goff, including Pro Bowl wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, but they may be active in the trade market to add a key piece to elevate the bunch.

Detroit Lions rumors: Tee Higgins quickly advanced as a bold trade target

Earlier this summer, the Bengals briefly became St. Brown the highest-paid receiver in the league, signing the homegrown star to a four-year deal worth $120.01 million, and emerging deep-threat Jameson Williams might play a larger role alongside St. Brown in 2024.

However, the Lions may want to make a blockbuster trade to add a playmaker to push this group over the top as the team strives to take the next step toward a Super Bowl berth this season.

Could the Detroit Lions Trade for Tee Higgins?

Tee Higgins, who is due to play the 2024 season on the franchise tag and earn $20.8 million, demanded a trade earlier this offseason and has been the subject of widespread speculation that a move could be reached.
The Lions could be the perfect destination.
Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report compiled a list of five potential Higgins trades for this summer, including moving the playmaker with 24 career touchdowns to the Motor City.

Here’s the transaction Moton suggests:

Cincinnati Bengals receive: 2025 second-round pick and a 2025 4th-round pick (via Philadelphia Eagles)

Detroit Lions receive: WR Tee Higgins

“The Detroit Lions shouldn’t take their foot off the gas after an appearance in the NFC Championship Game, Moton writes.”Not with $31 million in cap space.

“They’ve just started their Super Bowl run with a top-five scoring attack. Perhaps they can make it a little further in the playoffs with, perhaps, the NFL’s top passing attack.

“Detroit’s opponents would have a difficult task in countering the No. 2 aerial attack from the previous year plus Higgins, who would also bolster a shallow receiver group.”

Higgins might be a game changer for the Lions, giving Goff two potential 1,000-yard receivers in his arsenal. Landing in Detroit would be akin to Higgins’ exit from Cincinnati, when he starred alongside Ja’Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd, leading the Bengals to the Super Bowl after the 2021 season.

Higgins has caught 257 receptions for 3,684 yards and 24 receiving touchdowns throughout his first four seasons and would be a valuable addition to the Lions’ attack.
