John Textor could be just hours away from Everton takeover talks with Farhad Moshiri.

Everton fans at Goodison Park may finally see light at the end of the tunnel.

Everton takeover: John Textor's chances after 777 deadline as 'elegant' MSP solution suggested - Liverpool Echo

Once June arrives, Everton fans may never have to read about 777 Partners again.

It’s been a long and exhausting eight and a half months since the American investment firm agreed to buy Farhad Moshiri’s majority ownership in Goodison Park.

Few could have predicted the troubles that would surface, and at times it seemed like the drama would never finish.

But it looks that the Miami-based group has ran out of time (The Guardian, 30 May).

Moshiri extended a share purchase agreement (SPA) with 777 until May 31, a decision that would have surprised many given 777’s well-documented financial and legal issues.

However, now that the deadline has past, what many have known for weeks has been proven.

777 missed the deadline, thus Moshiri is now free to speak with new possible owners.

John Textor may be set for takeover negotiations with Farhad Moshiri at Everton.
While 777 might still potentially act on their interest in Everton, Moshiri is no longer legally obligated to honor the earlier deal.

This is not a solution in and of itself, but the expiration of the agreement opens the door to new possibilities.

Moshiri previously indicated that other parties have expressed interest.

The most well-known of these is John Textor, who holds a 45 percent ownership in Crystal Palace.

The businessman inquired about Everton but was unable to further his interest. Until now.

The Toffees are still in financial turmoil, and Mohsiri will want to start fresh discussions as soon as possible.

This might lead to Everton’s owner and Textor starting takeover talks as soon as feasible.

Perhaps as early as today.

There’s no reason to wait, and if Textor isn’t particularly in a hurry, Moshiri and Everton are.

The sooner negotiations begin, the better the chances of reaching an agreement.

As a result, the following days appear to have significant implications for Everton Football Club’s future.

In other Everton news, the club may accept a £30 million proposal plus add-ons for one exit-linked player.
