Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James reacts to Bronny James staying in the NBA draft.
For months, fans have debated whether Bronny James will enter the NBA through the forthcoming draft or remain in college. With the young star opting for the former, Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James is excited for his son’s upcoming professional debut.
A few years back, LeBron stated that he intends to play with Bronny in his final year in the NBA. Since then, the public has given more attention to the younger James, who played basketball in high school.
Bronny died of a cardiac collapse caused by a congenital heart disease before he could make his college debut. Fortunately, he healed in time to play for the USC Trojans during the 2023-24 NCAA season. However, the rising star only had a few minutes on the floor and did not live up to everyone’s expectations. Throughout that time, he averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.
Bronny was able to change his narrative by doing well at the Draft Combine. As a result, numerous teams, notably the Lakers and Phoenix Suns, are seriously considering drafting him in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James Hyped Up As Bronny Decides To Stay in 2024 NBA Draft
Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul just announced that Bronny will stay in the draft. This spurred the four-time NBA champion to respond to the new developments.
Bronny is now expected to go to the second round. Also, the younger James has declined workout invites from multiple NBA teams, only accepting ones from the Lakers and Suns. However, it is unclear whether the elder James will follow through on his pledge to play with Bronny. In any case, his son is anticipated to spend his time in the G-League preparing for his professional career in the NBA.
It’s unclear where Bronny will end up in the next months. There will undoubtedly be a lot of interest in the father and son’s next season. If he does end up playing for LeBron for a full season, the buzz and expectation between the two will be unprecedented. Hopefully, the younger James is prepared to play at the professional level.
