Red Sox Rising Star ‘Feeling Great;’ May Return On Time From Scary Injury

The Boston Red Sox have dealt with a number of high-impact injuries this season, but they received encouraging news on Wednesday.

Red Sox Rising Star 'Feeling Great;' Could Return On Time From Scary Injury

Boston lost budding talent first baseman Triston Casas to a serious rib injury in April, and he is currently on the 60-day injured list. Casas had a cartilage fracture and was in excruciating pain at first, and he has not played since April 20th.

He is eligible to return to the field on June 21st, and it appears that date is a realistic possibility at this time. Casas appears to be doing well and “progressing quickly,” according to Red Sox manager Alex Cora, as reported by MassLive.com’s Christopher Smith.

“Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas, who began taking ground balls this past Friday, will visit with the doctor at the end of the week,” Smith stated. “‘He’s progressing quickly,'” manager Alex Cora said ahead of Boston’s game against the Orioles on Wednesday. “So hopefully we can add something to what he’s doing, but he’s feeling great.”

Boston’s offense needs a boost, and Casas will undoubtedly offer one when he returns. The Red Sox offense has suffered the most injuries this season and has not fared well as a result.

The Red Sox’s starting rotation has kept the team in contention for a postseason position, but it will need a little more offense if it hopes to make it. Casas’ comeback should assist, and he appears to be on track to return by the end of June.
