ACCORDING TO SKY SPORTS: Everton set to complete the signing of talented Japanese player ahead of summ……

Everton and Brighton want Yukinari Suguwara, and a summer transfer is now quite plausible.

Everton are interested in signing AZ Alkmaar defender Yukinari Suguwara, who is “very likely” to depart this summer, according to Florian Plettenberg.

On 12 May, a Sky Sports Germany journalist tweeted that the 23-year-old is in high demand across Europe, with many teams expressing interest in him, including the Toffees, Brighton, Inter, and Wolfsburg.

Sugawara, a Japanese international, will have a year left on his contract at the conclusion of the season, thus he is anticipated to leave the Eredivisie club for a fee of roughly €6 million [£5.19 million].

The “key player” for Alkmaar has made 40 appearances this season, scoring four goals and assisting seven in all competitions.

As soon as a transfer fee is mentioned, one can’t help but question if the club’s financial circumstances will make such a deal impossible.

In normal conditions, a transfer for Suguwara would appear to be a bargain acquisition for a Premier League club, and given his output, age, and pricing, it appears to be a good deal.

However, with the Everton takeover still unresolved and Kevin Thelwell acknowledging that sales will be required this summer, as well as the possibility of a third spending charge looming next season, it remains to be seen what, if anything, can be spent in the market.

More money arrived from 777 at the end of the week, and a large sale of Jarrad Branthwaite or Amadou Onana may result in a tiny budget, even if the majority of that money will undoubtedly go toward running costs.

Sean Dyche’s right-back situation is uncertain, with Ashley Young and Seamus Coleman already 73 years old, Nathan Patterson out of favour, and Ben Godfrey better suited to centre-back.

However, when pitted against a behemoth like Inter and even Premier League rivals in Brighton, the free transfer chase of West Ham’s Ben Johnson may have a better chance of success.
