After revealing that one of her favorite NFL players is a Green Bay Packer, Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast in history, continues to place herself in a position to be despised by Chicago Bears supporters.
As the wife of Bears safety Jonathan Owens, Biles is aware of the rivalry between Green Bay and Chicago in the NFC North. Prior to joining the Bears at the beginning of this season, Owens was a Packer the previous season.
Biles was seen at a Bears preseason game earlier this year sporting a bespoke Packers jacket that had her husband’s former jersey number and other details, just after she had won the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Numerous Bears supporters expressed their dissatisfaction on social media.
When the Pittsburgh Steelers veteran defensive lineman asked Biles who NFL players most impressed her, she screamed out one of Owens’ former teammates during an interview on the “Not Just Football with Cam Heyward” podcast.
“We also loved being with Jordan Love last season, such a breakout star and that was super exciting,” Biles stated.
She began by referring to Patrick Mahomes, the star of the Kansas City Chiefs, as a “freak of nature.”
“You can’t hate them after you leave!” she declared. “You still have so much respect for the team.”
In his first season as a starter following the trade of four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, Love won the admiration of both Packers and NFL fans last season. Biles observed Love throwing passes for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions as Owens assisted on the defensive end of the ball.
After defeating the No. 2-seeded Dallas Cowboys on the road at AT&T Stadium, the Packers advanced to the playoffs. Against the top-seeded San Francisco 49ers, Love too had an opportunity to lead a game-winning drive, but he failed.
