Gosder Cherilus, a former NFL player, was taken into custody on Saturday following an alleged incident on a Delta flight in which he was purportedly seen peeing on another passenger.

Cherilus’s “unruly” behavior forced the flight, which was intended for Dublin, Ireland, to be redirected back to Logan Airport in Boston, the airline said.
Cherilus landed and was apprehended by the authorities. Subsequently, Boston police verified that the former offensive lineman had been taken into custody for disruptive behavior.

Cherilus is scheduled to be charged on Monday in a Boston court. The other passengers who were impacted by the incident were able to go with their journey to Ireland the next night.

According to a Delta representative who talked with Boston 25 News, “Delta flight 154 from Boston to Dublin on August 17 returned to Boston Logan due to an unruly customer and was met by law enforcement.” “Delta will work with law enforcement to enforce its zero-tolerance policy for illegal activity. We regret that our clients’ travel plans were delayed.”

Career of Gosder Cherilus

During his collegiate career, Cherilus distinguished himself as a brilliant offensive guard at Boston College, where he redshirted in 2003. The Detroit Lions went on to choose him with the 17th overall choice in the 2008 NFL Draft. Cherilus participated in 117 NFL games during his career, starting 113 of them.
Following five seasons with the Lions, Cherilus inked a hefty contract for $35 million in 2013 to join the Indianapolis Colts, making him the highest-paid right tackle in the league at the time.

But he was only with the Colts for two seasons when his tenure was terminated. Before retiring in 2017, he played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his final two seasons in the NFL.
