The estranged birth mother of Simone Biles has come out to say that she “would like to make amends with Simone personally.”
Thanks to her 11 Olympic medals during her career, the Team USA star is currently the most decorated athlete of all time.
Despite her current success, the 27-year-old had a very challenging childhood.
Simone spent several years in and out of foster care after her biological mother abandoned her when she was a child.
When Simone was six years old, her maternal grandfather Ronald Biles adopted her and her younger sister Adria.
Their grandfather, together with his wife Nellie Biles, raised the two in Texas.
After Simone’s Olympic victory, her biological mother has now spoken with the DailyMail.
Shanon has given an explanation for why she abandoned up on the Olympian initially, in addition to pleading for her to get in contact.
“It was difficult to part from my children, but I had no choice. I could not take care of them. She told the newspaper, “I was still taking drugs, and [my father] didn’t want me coming in and out of their lives when I wasn’t right.
Shanon continued, claiming that she had not participated in any aspect of Simone’s life, missing occasions like the Olympian’s marriage to NFL star Jonathan Owens the previous year.

“I’m just waiting for Simone and Adria, and I would like to make amends with her personally,” she said. I talk to Adria more often than I do Simone.
“I only want to seek for her pardon. Is it possible for us to proceed? I won’t let my history define me. Now let’s proceed.
I’m waiting for her to be able to approach me, but I’m also waiting for the chance. Come on, let’s have a seat. All I have to do is wait.”
Although Shanon might possess the Olympian’s mobile number, the mother has stated she ‘won’t use it’.
She said, “I want her to get in touch with me.” She is currently 27 years old. She is wed. I just have to wait for her, although I would have liked to have been included in it. No one can be pushed.
“I have patience, but it hasn’t happened yet. I’m awaiting her.
