Gonzalo Montiel, a defender for Nottingham Forest is flirting with River Plate, his previous team, in advance of the summer transfer window.
La Nacion claims that once the defender’s loan at Nottingham Forest expires, the club will view him as a huge chance.
They clarify that Montiel is one of the previous players whom the Argentine team is now tracking.
After an essentially fruitless loan stint at Nottingham Forest, where they avoided having to purchase him permanently, he is expected to return to Sevilla in the summer.
River had their eye on the full back the previous season, but they were unable to come to an agreement, so the player spent the season at Nottingham Forest.
River Plate is in frequent contact with Sevilla regarding a possible move, since they need sales to balance their books and he is not wanted there.
Although he hasn’t displayed the same zeal as other players thus far, he is hinting to the team that a deal might be made.
It appears that he is keeping his alternatives under wraps for the time being, maybe waiting to make a firm decision until the summer to see what options are available.
