In a devastating blow to the Parramatta Eels, star halfback Mitchell Moses has revealed that his season is finished after sustaining a suspected bicep tear in the final stages of Game 3.

Moses, 29, was taken off the pitch in the 77th minute of the Blues’ decisive victory and was immediately spotted squeezing his right bicep while visibly in pain.

Blues medical personnel promptly inspected the No.7’s bicep and appeared to inform Moses of the severity of the injury.

“You see the look on his face there after the doctor just told him it’s serious,” Fox League’s Greg Alexander stated during analysis.

Warren Smith noted that Eels supporters will “be hoping it’s nothing more than just a cork of the muscle.”

However, in a devastating blow to the faltering team, Moses admitted to Fox Sports News’ Dane Lillingstone that his 2024 season was finished.

“The bicep’s gone, so I’ll need surgery on that,” he said after the game in the Blues locker room.

“I will be gone (for the season).

“It’s been a tough year for the Eels but I’ll have to get this sorted and look at it next year.”

Moses was a standout for the Blues, becoming only the third halfback in state history to win a decider at Suncorp Stadium, joining an elite group that included Ricky Stuart and Andrew Johns.

The Eels halfback crossed for a try in the 67th minute, effectively taking the game away from Queensland. He finished the night with 30 running metres, four tackle breaks, 546 kick metres, and 17 tackles.

“It’s the greatest sensation ever. “You dream about these moments, and now I’m experiencing them,” he told Fox Sports News.

Moses’ departure is a huge blow for the Eels, who recently hired Jason Ryles as their coach for next season.
