### KOZORA: After two Steelers practices, my thoughts on Justin Fields

I have been thinking about Justin Fields’ performance and what it might signify for his future after seeing the quarterback throughout two Pittsburgh Steelers sessions. Fields’ career on the field with the Steelers provides some fascinating insights as a player who has both faced criticism for inconsistent play and displayed moments of greatness.

#### The Observations from Practice

Fields has had many highs and lows since going from being a standout collegiate player at Ohio State to playing in the NFL with the Chicago Bears. These two workouts with the Steelers gave us a new environment in which to assess his development and flexibility. Below is a summary of what I noticed:

**1. Making Decisions Under Duress**

Fields’ ability to move freely and lengthen plays makes him one of his most remarkable assets. He regularly displayed this skill during these drills. His agility out of the pocket and ability to make throws while moving is evidence of his athleticism. What was noteworthy, though, was how he made decisions in less stressful situations. When Fields had more time to look over the field, he appeared to have some difficulty making precise throws and rapid reads. This inconsistent way of making decisions may be a major area for his growth.

**2. Mechanisms and Accuracy**

One of the most common topics in conversations concerning Fields is accuracy. There were times during practice when he showed off his arm prowess with accurate throws. Inaccuracies did, however, occasionally surface, echoing some of the worries from his earlier performances. It is evident that Fields’ inconsistent mechanics occasionally compromise the consistency of his tosses. Taking care of these technical problems can be essential to raising his accuracy level overall.

**3. Getting Along with Recipients**

For any quarterback, developing chemistry with receivers is essential. Fields seemed to be getting along well with members of the Steelers’ receiving corps during these drills. It may be a sign of his adaptability to various targets and styles since he has notable ties to both younger and older receivers. Timing and synchronization did, however, occasionally appear off, indicating that continued practice and competitive settings will be essential for perfecting this element.

**4. Flexibility Against Varying Defenses**

Playing against a new defense—especially the dynamic and well-coached Steelers—offers a priceless educational opportunity. Fields showed flashes of strong adaptation, shifting his play in response to defensive looks. However, there were also times when he appeared taken aback by the Steelers’ strategies. This variation emphasizes how crucial it is for him to keep practicing against a variety of defensive tactics in order to improve his versatility.

#### Gazing Forward

These exercises show that while Justin Fields has a lot of promise, he still needs to work on a few things. His arm strength, movement, and moments of accuracy are encouraging aspects. But there are several areas that need attention, like the inconsistent decision-making, precision, and flexibility.

Fields still has work to do to improve his decision-making under duress, polish his mechanics, and establish a stronger relationship with his receivers. His performance in these drills may not give a complete picture of his abilities, but it does give an indication of where he is now and where he still has room to improve.

It will be important to watch how Fields continues to grow and deal with these issues as the season goes on. Fields has the ability, and with concentrated work, he might just develop into the quarterback that many think he can be. For the time being, these sessions with the Steelers have been an important milestone in that process, providing both learning experiences and room for improvement.

Pittsburgh Steelers Work Out Three Wide Receivers in Tuesday Session And……

Ravens vs. Steelers: Week 17 | PHOTOS – Baltimore Sun

Just one day before players are scheduled to report for training camp on Wednesday, the Pittsburgh Steelers were busy bringing in guys for workouts on Tuesday.

The Steelers checked out three wideouts, including Tarik Black, Slade Bolden, and Greg Ward Jr., according to the league’s transactions wire. According to reports earlier in the day, Pittsburgh also evaluated quarterback Ben DiNucci, who might have only been there to pass to the receivers.

It’s no secret that the wide receiver position on the Steelers roster is the biggest question mark. In order to support starting quarterback Russell Wilson, the team needs to find solid alternatives to George Pickens. Sadly, none of these players will check that box, making them little more than camp corpses.

Among the group, Ward Jr. has the most experience, but it doesn’t really say anything. Over 40 games (13 starts), the former Philadelphia Eagle has 88 career receptions for 768 yards and 10 TDs. In 2020, he had his greatest season with 419 receiving yards. Since 2021, he hasn’t taken a snap in the NFL.

The one NFL game that Black has played in was with the New York Jets in 2021. In that one game, he had just one catch for ten yards. Bolden has never participated in an NFL snap. In 2023, he was a member of the NFL roster and played for the Atlanta Falcons.

The Steelers players will take to the field on Thursday for their first training camp practice following their reporting on Wednesday. The whole schedule for Pittsburgh’s training camp is here.

Sorry Pittsburgh Steelers fans, Brandon Aiyuk seems to prefer the Washington Commanders as………….

I apologize to Pittsburgh Steelers fans, but it seems that Brandon Aiyuk would rather trade for the Washington Commanders.

In the event that Brandon Aiyuk is traded this offseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been strongly mentioned as one of the San Francisco 49ers’ top trade candidates. The Steelers, who lost Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers in trade, are in dire need of receivers this offseason. But, following a story by ESPN’s Ryan Clark surfaced on Monday, it seems that Aiyuk clearly favors the Washington Commanders.

Pittsburgh Steelers Trade For WR Seems Inevitable - Athlon Sports

WR support is needed by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

During OTAs, the Steelers’ receiver problems were widely reported. George Pickens is without a doubt the top target. However, there is a competition among guys who would be WR3 or WR4 on many NFL squads for the WR2 spot. An offense eager to capitalize on having Russell Wilson play this season on the veteran minimum would see an instant improvement under Aiyuk.

Perhaps Aiyuk will not be seriously considered by the Steelers if he enters the trade market.

Brandon Aiyuk and Jayden Daniels are connected.

As was previously mentioned on GH, Aiyuk posted a video on TikTok in which he discusses his circumstances in San Francisco with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders:

Aiyuk recently shared a video on TikTok discussing his chat with Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders and his belief that the 49ers do not want him back. Scott Polacek described what San Francisco believed of him and his future with the organization in a Bleacher Report story.

“It raised rumors that he was talking about his current contract negotiations with the 49ers, but according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the organization does want him to stay.

Instead of $28 million, the 49ers would prefer that Aiyuk stay for $26 million annually.

This week’s TikTok exchange between Daniels and Aiyuk is considerably more significant than previous week’s. Speaking with Daniels isn’t a big deal because Aiuyk and Daniels were colleagues at Arizona State.

One of Aiyuk’s ideal trading partners could be the Washington Commanders.

But a trend is starting to show.

In recent days, Aiyuk and Daniels have been sighted together several times. Ryan Clark disclosed that Aiyuk will have a Monday meeting with the 49ers. Aiyuk is amenable to a trade but would rather remain with the 49ers. If the 49ers choose to deal Aiyuk, Clark said the Commanders might be his top choice:

On ESPN’s NFL Live, Clark stated, “And I will tell you this: when [Aiyuk] sat with us, he did not walk into the room alone.” It was Brandon Aiyuk first. It was Jayden Daniels, to start with. Although I’m not a tea leaf reader, it sounds like Brandon Aiyuk would be open to performing in Washington.

Not just the Steelers need assistance at wide receiver. In general manager Adam Peters’ first season in Washington, the Commanders are rebuilding. After serving as the 49ers’ assistant general manager for three productive seasons, Peters was hired by another team this offseason. He joined the 49ers in 2017 after being appointed vice president of player personnel.

Thus, Aiyuk has additional ties in Washington.
