In a recent interview with Playmaker, Boston disclosed as much when questioned about how she is assisting Clark’s transition to the WNBA. Boston claims that she makes it a point to “instill confidence” in Clark and to remind her of her potential in the game.
Boston disclosed what she frequently tells Clark: “Just keep instilling confidence in her, but also let her know that she is capable of all she wants to do here.”
“I believe that at the start of the season, I wanted to encourage her—just keep showing herself grace and trusting that she will find her way, which she did.”
Like Aliyah Boston, Caitlin Clark is the first overall pick. But because of the enormous fan base Clark has amassed while living in Iowa, far more people have been watching her than her fellow Fever All-Star.
The 22-year-old shooter’s tenure with the Fever got off to a somewhat poor start as they lost five out of their first six games and only managed one victory in their first nine games. But since then, Clark has made adjustments as Indiana has also turned the turnaround and become a serious postseason candidate.

At 17.1 points, 58 rebounds, and a league-best 8.2 assists per game, Clark is leading the way. She achieved a triple-double, becoming the first rookie in WNBA history, and she is a strong candidate for Rookie of the Year.
Based on her appearance, Boston appears to have done a good job guiding Clark through the highs and lows of the WNBA.
