After only a few months of her incredible debut season with the Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark is still setting new records.

During their final game before this weekend’s All-Star showdown and the Olympic Games, the team played against the Dallas Wings on Wednesday night. Clark had another incredible performance, breaking two records to increase her chances of winning WNBA Rookie of the Year over Angel Reese.

The first occurred when, after just 26 games for the team, she recorded her 202nd assist of the season for Indiana, setting a new franchise record for the most in a single season.

The No. 1 draft pick also recorded the most assists in a single game by a rookie in WNBA history after going on to record an incredible 19 in total versus Dallas.

But in spite of her valiant efforts, the Fever lost to the Wings at College Park Center 101-93.

Regardless, Clark’s first season has been incredible thus far. After a tremendous collegiate career with Iowa, she smashed numerous records in the major leagues.

She made history earlier this month when she recorded the first-ever triple-double and finished the game with 400 points, 150 assists, and 100 rebounds.

There is disagreement over who should win the WNBA Rookie of the Year title this season between Clark and his bitter opponent Angel Reese.

Similar to her fellow rookie, Reese is having a tremendous season with the Chicago Sky. With 11.9 rebounds per game, she now holds the second-best league record.

This week, NBA star Shaquille O’Neal named Reese as his “certain” front-runner amidst the ongoing dispute about who will win.

“This is not only because she attended LSU,” Reese’s college roommate O’Neal stated on ESPN’s Sports Center.

“However, I believe she is leading the Rookie of the Year competition.”

“I cast my vote for Angel.”
