In the narrative: Ole Miss Rebels
Head coach Lane Kiffin has led the Ole Miss Rebels to some impressive moments, but they haven’t been able to overcome adversity and contend for a conference title.
Since its inception in 1992, Ole Miss has never participated in the SEC Championship Game, with their last conference title coming in 1963. With an eye toward a College Football Playoff appearance, the Rebels have great expectations for the upcoming season. But will they be able to compete and defeat some of the SEC’s top players?
In Nick Saban’s opinion. During SEC Media Days, the former head coach of Alabama, who is currently an ESPN analyst, discussed the Rebels on SEC Network.
According to Mike Rodak of 247Sports, “I think this is the first time Ole Miss can really match-up up front,” stated Saban. It’s been their problem forever. They will win eleven games. Their inability to match up up front will force them to lose against both Georgia and us. This year, they are able to. They will resemble an SEC squad more.
That’s terrific feedback from one of the all-time greats in college football, and it suggests that Lane Kiffin’s transfer portal strategy might work this season. By adding names like Walter Nolen and Chris Hardie to the defensive line and Julius Buelow and Diego Pounds to the offensive line, the Rebels increased their size and strength on both sides of the trenches.
Not to mention offensive lineman Nate Kalepo and edge rusher Princely Umanmielen. One of Kiffin’s main objectives after Ole Miss embarrassingly lost to Georgia last season was to strengthen the front lines with the help of these new faces and the returning talent for the Rebels.
“There was a length and size concern, which was one of the key things I simply thought should happen in a couple games over our time here, primarily with Alabama and Georgia,” Kiffin stated on Monday at SEC Media Days. “Once more, we need to coach, practice, and perform at an extremely high level. However, I suppose we’ll look better getting off the bus. We’ll have increased size and length.
This season, Ole Miss’s ultimate objective should be to make it to the 12-team College Football Playoff, but doing so will require navigating the SEC. On August 31, the Rebels will host the FCS Furman Paladins to kick off the season.

“Alabama’s Gridiron Ace Jalen Milroe Inks Major Deal with Improbable Media for Brand Brilliance!….
Alabama college football player Jalen Milroe Signs With Improbable Media, A Brand Management Company
Football player Jalen Milroe of the University of Alabama has inked a representation deal with the brand management and production business Improbable Media, an indication of the times in which collegiate athletes are living.
NBA player Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and ESPN basketball commentator and entrepreneur Jay Williams co-founded Improbable Media. The company’s goal is to assist athletes in taking full advantage of the increasing opportunities for brand collaborations, commercial ventures, and endorsement arrangements. Players are now able to sign lucrative contracts before to becoming pro because to recent modifications made to NCAA regulations regarding collegiate athletes as a result of legal disputes.
A lawsuit that reached the Supreme Court in 2021 compelled the NCAA to amend its rules governing student athletes’ interactions with third parties. According to a summary by Lansing, Michigan-based legal firm Foster Swift, “for the first time, student-athletes [may] benefit monetarily from their name, image, and likeness without risk of NCAA penalty.” Since then, the NCAA has adjusted its regulations on name, image, and likeness, or NIL, in response to decisions made in April and 2022.
Milroe, the quarterback for the most famous team in collegiate football, is about to enter his senior year. He has an automatic platform in sports and media because of the attention that comes with being the Crimson Tide’s quarterback. Improbable Media wants to steer clear of pitfalls and assist Milroe and others take full use of that potential.
“There was an instant connection and common ground when I first met Jalen in Tuscaloosa,” Williams, a former Duke University All-American and college basketball national champion, said. “Jalen’s business model is so impressive, and working closely with him has given all of us at Improbable a lot of energy.”
Growing up in Katy, Texas, Milroe led Alabama to a 12-1 record in his junior year of competition. He earned a degree in business administration in December.
For Milroe, “joining the Improbable Media family is a game changer.” “There are more opportunities and difficulties in this new NIL environment for collegiate athletes, so it’s critical to surround myself with the appropriate team.” With Improbable, I’m excited to develop, learn, and create my own brand.
The goal of Improbable is to assist Milroe and his coworker Terrion Arnold in creating brand possibilities centered around a proverb they both had that has since evolved into the team’s motto, “LANK,” which stands for “Let a Naysayer Know.” For the term, Milroe and Arnold have filed for trademark protection. Along with producing shows like “Giannis: The Marvelous Journey” on Amazon Prime Video, Improbable is also a busy production company. In 2023, it won an Emmy Award for “The Flagmakers,” a documentary on immigrants who work for Wisconsin-based Eder Flag, the biggest supplier of American flags in the country, which aired on National Geographic/Disney+.
Additionally, according to Improbable Media, “the two have negotiated a licensing arrangement for items with every player’s name and number to give a chance to make cash based on their identity and likeness, the original objective of NIL.”
Jessica Lindell, head of brand partnerships at Improbable Media, stated, “While Jalen’s great athletic accomplishments are well-known, we’re equally pleased about the opportunity to spotlight Jalen’s narrative off the field.” “At Improbable, producing real, interesting material is our top priority. This dedication guarantees collaborations that have a major effect by aligning with the athlete’s ambition and the brand.

Alabama is still Alabama, despite some Crimson Tide supporters’ initial anxiety and the national media’s fervor for an Alabama defeat.
The official report date for Alabama football players for the 2024 season is July 30. On July 31, Fall Camp will start the next day. The weekend before to Camp starts is when the yearly Crimson Tide Cookout takes place. Before beginning the last preseason practice going into a new season, the Alabama football staff traditionally makes a significant recruiting push. There is currently no list of Cookout attendees available.
A significant day is approaching for committed and recruits of Alabama football. On3 will make available its most recent player rankings for the 2025 class on July 8. Alabama Football: Recruiting and Commitment Actions
Each athlete has both their 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry rankings displayed.
No. 55 (On3); No. 34 (247) for quarterback Keelon Russell is a 4-star player. Presumably, the commit from Alabama will receive a significant boost—possibly ranking as a 5-star.
AK Please find attached the 4-star RB No. 36 (on3) and 4-star No. 32 (247). Dear might get a rating increase to a five star. All agree that Alabama is the frontrunner to win him.

Luke Metz, linebacker; 3-star, No. 639 (247); 4-star, No. 361 (On3). Nearly a surefire major advancement for Metz. Verbal commit in Alabama
Another July note: many recruiting insiders anticipate 5-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham will pledge to the Alabama Crimson Tide at some point in July, even if the precise date is unknown.
