Wayne Rooney of Plymouth’s thoughts on the Orlando Pirates during their preseason match
Wayne Rooney, manager of Plymouth Argyle and icon of Manchester United, discussed his feelings about Orlando Pirates after Friday night’s preseason friendly.
The game between Plymouth and Pirates at Banus Football Center in Marbella, Spain, concluded in a 2-2 tie. Their pre-season tour of Spain got underway with this game.
Twice the Pilgrims overcame a goal deficit to earn a 2-2 draw. For the Buccaneers, goals came from Olisa Ndah and Evidence Makgopa, while Callum Wright and Freddie Issaka scored for Rooney’s team.
Rooney said they were aware of the Buccaneers’ strength as a team and expressed no surprise at the outcome. He acknowledged that his soldiers were having a tough game.
But because his team continued to improve throughout the game, he believes they had opportunities to win it in the second half.
Wayne Robinson’s response to the friendly preseason game against the Orlando Pirates
It was a really challenging game. We knew that the Orlando Pirates are a very excellent team, in Rooney’s opinion, the media department of the Plymouth Argyle reported.
“The temperature. For the boys, it was an extremely hot evening after a long week of work, and it was already difficult to stand there and watch the game. Yesterday, we had two sessions.
It was critical that they not only obtained the minutes but also some sense of the game’s pace.
“Overall, I’m really happy with the players, but I thought we grew into the game in the second half and could have won it.”
One of their recent additions received minutes from Ezimnyama Ngenkani. Selaelo Rasebotja, an offensive midfielder who was just signed, was in the starting lineup. After leaving SuperSport United, Pirates signed him on a free transfer.
On the bench were Dimpho Madalane of ABC Motsepe League Mpumalanga club Madubaduba FC and Bayanda Zulu of ABC Motsepe KZN club Midlands Wanderers.

WOW: Astonishing Could the Orlando Pirates star be shown the door to exit?
Six players have already left the Orlando Pirates, and more departures are anticipated following the trip to Spain. Might this unexpected fan favorite be the next?
The Orlando Pirates are reportedly far from done, having already let go of six players.
The Pirates have identified their attacking department as a priority and are looking to rebuild their roster.
In a span of two weeks, pirates freed Souaibou Marou, Fortune Makaringe, Kermit Erasmus, Richard Ofori, Thabang Monare, and Siyabonga Mpontshane. These are the players whose contracts have expired because the club’s management believes they are surplus to requirements. There are still players under contract with the Houghton-based team that could be traded, loaned out, or have their contracts cancelled.
EXODUS PIRATES
However, a number of other players have been mentioned as leaving the Pirates before the upcoming season. These players may include younger members of the squad that the team may view as future assets. Conversely, it’s also possible that the team is attempting to capitalize on more seasoned players.
Suddenly, Soccer-Laduma implies that Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, a small midfielder, may not be playing for the Pirates in the future!
For him, it’s a tight position (Ndlondlo). His future is truly in jeopardy because the Pirates are considering making roster changes for the upcoming campaign. They are negotiating a loan arrangement with him till the end of his contract in June of the following year. Alternatively, this year he might be involved in a permanent relocation. Clubs are also interested in him, but it’s too soon to make any statements at this point. However, his future is very debatable, according to a source who spoke with the publication.
NEXT NDLONDLO?
Ndlondlo may be participating in “trials” during their preseason trip to Spain, according to a second source.
“They (the pirates) won’t decide until they’ve finalized the new arrivals, which might happen after they get back from Europe. Let’s wait till they return at the end of July, at which point everything will become evident. Indeed, Ndlondlo’s future is currently in jeopardy. As a player, he is in a limbo,” the source claimed.
What would you think, Pirates supporters, if Ndlondlo quit the team? Kindly share your opinions in the space provided below.
