Pramac Asserts Carlo Pernat, Eyeing Andrea Iannone for Spectacular MotoGP Comeback!

Andrea Iannone made a comeback to the Superbike World Championship this year, riding a Ducati for Team GoEleven. Due to his impressive results, there are even discussions about his possible comeback to MotoGP in 2025 with Prima Pramac Racing. Paolo Campinoti, the team owner, hasn’t completely ruled out a test.
After five years away from the top class, rider manager Carlo Pernat told MOW Mag that he thinks the Pramac leader would actually want to bring Iannone on board, although there is some doubt regarding the rider’s level:

I think Campinoti will want to give working with Andrea Iannone a go, particularly if Ducati decides to extend Álvaro Bautista’s contract with the factory Superbike squad. After all these years, I’m not sure how competitive someone can be when getting back on a MotoGP bike, but I know Andrea well enough to say that she can prove me wrong if anybody can.

Given the difficulties in setting up a test with Iannone, Pernat thinks Pramac might hold onto a spot for a while: “I think it will take some time because it is not very simple to organize a test with a rider who is under contract with another manufacturer from the standpoint of the issues that arise on paper.” This implies that if things with Iannone don’t work out, there may be an opening at Pramac until the very last minute. If that happens, it will, if needed, go to a young rider Yamaha really loves.

Iannone, who debuted in the MotoGP with Pramac in 2013, is a highly valued rider for Campinoti. After that, in 2015, he advanced to Ducati after working for Suzuki and Aprilia. He has always maintained his innocence about the doping issue that led him to exit the tournament at the conclusion of 2019.
