Alabama supporters experienced a range of emotions on Wednesday as they were able to travel to Ohio and sign one of the finest players in the 2025 class, Edge Justin Hill, away from the Buckeyes, who were the favored to land him. Nonetheless, they lost a defensive piece from their 2025 class today.

Alabama loses its star linebacker.

BREAKING: Class of 2025 LB Myles Johnson has decommitted from Alabama, he informs me for @on3recruits

The 6’1 220 LB from Brewton, Alabama had been committed to the Crimson Tide since October 2023.

Is the second 2025 recruit to decommit from Alabama.

The 6-foot-1, 220-pound linebacker visited Florida on June 7th, then a month later, he decommitted from his current school, meaning he has a good possibility of playing for the Gators. He is currently in contact with Billy Napier and Florida via crystal ball.

If Johnson decides to sign to Florida, there is a good chance he may decommit again because head coach Billy Napier is under fire this season and the team has a difficult schedule. There’s a chance they won’t make it to the bowl game, and Napier is out. When a coach leaves or is fired, players frequently leave the school, therefore Johnson may face this situation if he chooses the Gators.

Despite losing Johnson, the Crimson Tide remains ranked as the second-best recruiting class in 2025, trailing only Ohio State, which signed a player today, indicating that head coach Kalen DeBoer and the team are doing well.
