Super Bowl Champ Slams NBA Superstar Luka Doncic.
Slovenian guard Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks recently fell to the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. This prompted former Super Bowl champion LeSean McCoy to call the Mavs player the worst All-Star he had ever seen.
Despite Luka Doncic’s heroic efforts, the Dallas Mavericks failed to overcome a 3-0 series disadvantage against the Boston Celtics in the 2024 NBA Finals. After avoiding a sweep with a home victory in Game 4, the Mavericks were completely outmatched in the deciding Game 5, losing 106-88 on the road.
Doncic, the driving force behind the Mavericks’ playoff success, averaged 29.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 2.6 steals per game during the series. In fact, he became the only player in NBA history to reach those statistical milestones during a Finals series. However, the Slovenian superstar’s courageous efforts were unable to defeat the well-rounded Celtics club, particularly his poor defensive performance.
While the Mavericks were considered underdogs heading into the NBA Finals, many hoped Doncic might lead them to an upset. Unfortunately, the supporting cast failed to deliver, with Kyrie Irving and the team’s role players unable to make an impact against the suffocating Celtics defense.
