Urban Meyer says a major football program has the most talented roster in the last decade.
Former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer understands what it takes to win a national championship with the Buckeyes. In 2014, he led the Buckeyes to the CFP national championship game, where they defeated the Oregon Ducks.
Meyer feels the 2024 season will be memorable for the Buckeyes. Meyer talks with Adam King on the insane amount of talent in the locker room following Ohio State’s signing of one of the top transfer groups in the country.
Meyer noted, “As of today, this is one of the most talented rosters in the previous decade, possibly ever.” “They’ve got to play, but you look at the quality of athlete at every position, I’ve never seen anything like it.”
The Buckeyes’ transfer portal class featured Alabama safety Caleb Downs and Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins. Ohio State also signed former Kansas State quarterback Will Howard, who threw for over 5,500 yards and 48 touchdowns over four seasons with the Wildcats.
The Buckeyes also return several significant contributors from both sides of the ball, including defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau and running back Tre’Veyon Henderson. Ohio State finished 11-2 last season, but the season ended in sadness when the Buckeyes lost to Missouri in the Cotton Bowl.
Ohio State will begin the 2024 season against Akron on August 31 in Columbus. The Buckeyes want to win their first national championship since 2014.
