Snoop Dogg tells the genuine story of Luka Doncic’s viral trash-talk moment.
Snoop Dogg made waves during Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves after what appeared to be an exchange with Luka Doncic. In the third quarter, Doncic appeared to say to Snoop, “Who’s crying mother******?” However, Snoop explained on the WHOO’S House Podcast that the insult was not directed at him.
Even though Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks trail 1-3 in the NBA Finals, their performance in the previous series was impressive. The Dallas Mavericks were considered the Western Conference’s underdogs when they faced the top-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves.
Doncic and the Mavericks dominated the series, winning four of the five games, including the final match at Target Center in Minneapolis. Luka destroyed the Timberwolves defense in the final game, scoring 36 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out five assists.
However, he also engaged in some heated trash talk with the audience, demonstrating his competitive nature. Snoop Dogg, a hip-hop legend, was among those in attendance.
“I was in town, and I had a gig the following night. I’m a basketball fan, and I’ve never seen Luka play live. I want to watch them get down. “Kyrie is a friend of mine; I just want to see good basketball, and Anthony Edwards is a bad m**********r,” Snoop remarked while participating on the podcast.
Someone else was saying s**t, not Luka. When Luka took the lead, he asked, ‘Who’s sobbing now, m**********r?’ I acted like this n***a dog. Mr. Dogg went on to say, “I like his get down because he meets the press.”
That guy probably learned the hard way that baiting Doncic never ends well, and the Slovenian most certainly brought some Timberwolves fans to tears that night. Doncic and the Mavericks decimated the home team, building a lead of up to 36 points at one point. They ultimately won 124-103, sealing their position in the NBA Finals.
Since his debut in 2018, Luka has never shied away from the spotlight, eagerly assuming the position of superstar in Dallas after Dirk Nowitzki passed it on.
Doncic’s flexible style allows him to constantly dominate games. His size allows him to dominate smaller defenders, and his diversified skill set allows him to take advantage of any mismatch. He has great ball-handling abilities, frequently slipping past defenders and making tough shots with pinpoint accuracy.
The Mavericks fell behind 3-0 against the Boston Celtics, drawing attention to Doncic’s defensive difficulties and numerous concerns. However, their narrative shifted slightly with a dominating victory against the Celtics in Game 4.
Despite common assumption that the series is almost over, the players must remain confident in their capacity to produce a comeback. Doncic spoke openly about the key component in the Mavericks’ victory in Game 5.
“Yeah, we talked about it,” Doncic said on NBA TV. “I think the most essential thing to demonstrate is that we believe. I believe we demonstrated in Game 4. If we hadn’t believed, we probably wouldn’t have won that game, so I think it’s simple to talk about it, but displaying it is another story.”
Snoop finished the talk by discussing the Mavericks’ probable comeback in the Finals series against the Celtics, who trail 1-3 after dropping the first three games. He said, “It’s a long series, you never know,” despite the fact that the Mavericks would need to make history to win only their second NBA championship.
