GOOD SIGNING: Everton sign available attack ace with ‘Key Ambition’ for window, according to report.

Jack Harrison returns to Everton’s transfer window ambitions following Leeds United progress.

Leeds winger Jack Harrison is confident the newly-promoted Premier League side 'can get people talking about Leeds again'

According to the Liverpool Echo, Jack Harrison’s return from Leeds United is a “key ambition” for Everton during the summer window.

A rundown on the outlet’s website on June 5 suggested that with the Toffees now having only one senior wide man in the team, the position is a priority for the summer, with the Englishman re-signing for the club a top target after returning to Elland Road.

The Whites missed out on Premier League promotion after losing 1-0 to Southampton in the play-off final, and there is a condition in the 27-year-old’s contract that permits him to depart on a second loan, but Daniel Farke’s side are expected to seek a permanent deal.

Harrison was a regular for Sean Dyche last season after recovering from a hip injury, making 36 appearances, scoring four goals and assisting three.

Sean Dyche needs Kevin Thelwell to sign Everton wide men

Dwight McNeil has established his worth since following Dyche to Goodison Park from Burnley, but he cannot be the sole winger for his manager next season, as Arnaut Danjuma’s less successful loan has also ended.

Lewis Dobbin scored his first goal for the club against Chelsea last season, but the 21-year-old lacks experience, so Harrison’s return makes a lot of sense.

The Leeds loanee wasn’t exactly on fire throughout the campaign, but he was “valued” by the club and is believed to have “enjoyed his time on Merseyside”.

And, given Kevin Thelwell’s limited transfer budget in light of ongoing takeover uncertainties and the continued pressure of profit and sustainability rules, Harrison would be a low-cost, known quantity.

Everton would most certainly be unable to afford a permanent deal, thus Leeds’ failure to advance has created an important opportunity.

The club will hope the former Manchester City player’s feelings about a move following his season on loan will drive him to walk through it, as the possibility of a rival offering a transfer price for his services is certain to be preferable to his club.

In unrelated Everton news, a financial expert claims the club has banked around £130 million to alleviate cashflow concerns.
