In yesterday’s Scottish Cup semi-final victory over Aberdeen, hardly many Celtic players stood out, if the supporters are being truly honest.
Although Brendan Rodgers’ team scored three goals and secured our spot at Hampden for the May final, they struggled for extended periods of the match.
Poor passing and defense severely hurt Celtic, making yesterday’s match difficult to watch. However, a penalty shootout victory in the end clinched the victory, and Rodgers and his squad can now look forward to another Hampden final this season.
But even though he struggled at times, Aberdeen icon Willie Miller revealed yesterday afternoon which Celtic player truly impressed him.
Magnificent The game-changer for Celtics was James Forrest.
Miller, who co-commented with Pat Bonner, was astounded by James Forrest’s goal in the 63rd minute for his Celtics club.
“It was a brilliant swap wasn’t it and he puts him out on the left-hand side as well coming on to his right foot,” Miller said during commentary on BBC Radio Scotland.
Aberdeen, they did receive a warning. The first shot was blocked, but they saved the second, which was excellent.
Because it’s that precise, Kelle Roos really had no opportunity to reach it when he stroked it into the far corner.
A brilliant replacement that changed the course of the match.

James Forrest has recently made a very underappreciated contribution to Celtic. The renowned winger, who entered the game as a second-half substitute, still has it in him to contribute significantly this year.
Forrest has made 23 appearances and, while playing just more than 22 minutes a game on average, has scored four goals.
As evidenced by his two goals against St Johnstone and Ross County yesterday, he is a valuable player to come off the bench. [Transfermarkt]
And With six games remaining in the Celtic season, Forrest is probably going to play a big role as we try to win both the league and the cup.
